It’s a myth that Thailand is all about go- go bars, parties and just night life. Thailand has much more to offer along with the above mentioned features. Back in 2010 when I visited Bangkok only for a company offered training, I returned back with the ugliest image of Thailand. Well it was not the fault of Bangkok but mine choosing the wrong hotel at the wrong place i.e. The famous NANA area.
The next year, I was asked to attend another training in Thailand and I was a little hesitant to return back to the same place where I will be asked on every inch of Bangkok for a boom boom experience, even at the taxi stand of the airport or when its comes at the concierge service of any five-star hotel or at the restaurant where the menu card would be flipped over to give me steamy variety of nude models.
For my surprise, my training venue was setup in Chiang Mai city which is located in mountainous northern Thailand. I googled the place and found it quite interesting. The flight was via (yet again) Bangkok and arrival was late night. Took the taxi and reached Hotel. The non stop raining never gave me a chance to even notice where I am heading to from airport to hotel and room. The morning came up with so much pleasant surprise when I noticed that I am actually in a boutique hotel managed by a charming lady and the perfection in every inch of the hotel where she planted native tree species to convert the place as an active rainforest. The add value was the home made breakfast next to the pool where I was served with pancakes with fresh fruits…..wow….I feel like flying back there once again.
The 20 minutes walk to conference hotel from my residence hotel gave a straight way glimpse that Thailand is full of history, culture, values, hard work, dedication and architecture in shape of temples and on can’t take away his or her sight on the carvings, details and colors themes used centuries ago.
